Tyrese is SCOLDED by judge and is ordered to pay ex $10K-a-month in child support

A judge scolded Tyrese Gibson and ordered him to pay $10,690 a month in child support for his three-year-old daughter Soraya amid his divorce from ex-wife Samantha Lee Gibson.

TMZ reports that things got tense during a proceeding before Superior Court Judge Kevin M. Farmer after Samantha's attorney noted Tyrese, 43, had amassed over $2 million in 2018 despite him claiming to have been in financial ruin at the time.

'I don't do the CFO thing. Here's a question to you, smart person,' Tyrese back talked, according to TMZ.

However, he was cut off by Judge Kevin M. Farmer, who yelled at him, 'You don't ask questions! That's not how this works!!' The judge also allegedly threatened to hold the singer in contempt should he misbehave again.

The singer during a proceeding in Fulton County, Georgia, also became officially single as the judge granted the petition for divorce from his estranged wife, according to an article by TMZ. He was also not required to pay spousal support to Gibson.

'This is not a punishment for you. Put that money where it belongs, in the child!,' the judge said while announcing the child support amount.

He also advised both parents to not bad mouth each other in front of their daughter.

The child support was backdated to when Samantha filed for divorce in September 2020 meaning that Tyrese owes his ex a lump sum of $209,000.

The judge reduced the amount by $46,000 since Tyrese has been making payments on Samantha's car for two years, lowering the lump sum to $169,000.

Neither party will have to pay spousal support as Tyrese requested on Monday during a hearing when he balked at her demand for $20,000 a month in spousal support.

The court also agreed on Tuesday to his request to keep their 2016 Range Rover with Samantha getting their 2017 Land Rover Discovery.

Samantha filed for divorce from the six-time Grammy nominee in September 2020, and claimed Tyrese had locked her out of the house. He has denied the accusation.

The musician pointed to 'being raised in broken homes with with no example of what being a husband or father is' as contributing to the demise of his second marriage and claimed 'black families and marriages are under attack' at the time.

Tyrese said in a separate statement that he and Samantha, who he met in 2015, will 'remain the best of friends and strong co-parents.'

Samantha uses her degree to help fight sex and human trafficking, as well as campaigning to provide counselling for inmates, according to TMZ.

She has also reportedly handled cases for the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) in Georgia.

Sources close to the pair said at the time of their nuptials that they met after Tyrese posted an open letter to his 'wife of the future' in 2015, and were put in touch through mutual friends.

Following his divorce Tyrese has been dating influencer Zelie Timothy, 25, though the union has been somewhat shaky.

Earlier in July he took to Instagram with a bizarre breakup post. However, Zelie later updated fans that the couple are now in therapy to move past their issues.
